Strategy

From its origins as a grassroots microfinance organisation forming Loan Solidarity Groups, to its current position as one of the country’s foremost sustainable not-for-profit organizations, the Fundación Paraguaya’s success has been more than just a question of tenacity. What distinguishes the FP is its comprehensive approach to the challenges of sustainable development. It seeks out creative solutions which offer the prospect of being self-sustainable, demonstrates that these ideas can work, and propagates these models through partnership to achieve maximum impact

The FP’s mission is to pursue sustainable development through the promotion of entrepreneurship. Its success in managing its “triple bottom line” of sustainable development – economic prosperity, social equity and environmental quality – is based on the fact that:
• Its programs are not stand-alone, but mutually supporting and reinforcing
• Its programs are self-funding, ensuring future continuity, sustaining growth, and offering the independence to innovate
• Local and international partnerships help leverage its impact and maintain its leadership at the frontier of new practice in Paraguay
